Routes to summit

Mt Meru

Momella Route

Duration: 3-4 days

Highlights: This is the most popular and accessible route. It starts from the Momella Gate and offers stunning views of wildlife and the crater. It’s relatively shorter and easier compared to other routes, making it suitable for those with limited time.

Jezani Route

Duration: 3-4 days

Highlights: Starting from the Jezani Gate, this route is less frequented and offers a more secluded experience. It is known for its diverse flora and fauna and has a moderate level of difficulty.


Miriakamba Route

Duration: 3-4 days

Highlights: This route also begins at the Momella Gate but follows a different path through lush forests and grasslands. It provides a slightly different perspective of the mountain’s ecosystem and wildlife.


Saddle Route

Duration: 2-3 days

Highlights: This route is a direct ascent path from the saddle hut to the summit, often combined with the Momella or Miriakamba routes for a complete climb. It’s a shorter option but requires good physical fitness.

What is included and excluded?

Included:

1. Park Fees and Permits

   - Kilimanjaro National Park entry fees.

2. Guide and Crew
